few? a few?? VS little? a little??
今日同大家討論既就係 - Few,a few, little & a little
FEW VS LITTLE
先黎個test先:
1. I have little money left.
2. I have few money left.
邊句岩? 當然就係第一句啦~
其實little 用黎形容uncountable既野,就好似money咁,唔係一件件既,所以就應該用little而唔用few。
所以:
little / a little : uncountable nouns
few / a few : countable nouns
Examples:
Little
1. We'll wait a little longer.
2. I only have little water left.
Few
1. There are a few cakes left.
2. We've been having a few problems with the new computer.
A LITTLE / A FEW VS LITTLE / FEW
好喇,分完few 同little既分別之後就輪到 few / little 同 a few / a little
Example: I have a few books but he has few books.
我仲有少少書 - 但係佢得番好少書
I have a little wine but he has little wine.
我仲有少少紅酒 - 但係佢得番好少紅酒
A few/ a little = 仲有少少 (positive)
few / little = 得番少少 (negative)
言下之意:
I have a little wine = 我仲有少少紅酒,係試唔試下? (仲夠請人飲)
I have little wine = 我得番好少紅酒,請唔到你飲了。(連自己飲都無乜)
對比之下就可以知道 a few 同 a little 所指的數量其實係比 few / little 多既。
至於點記呢...我會記住 a few 比 few 多左一個字,所以 a few 係比 few 多d既~
